Events & exhibition management

Events that create pipeline, not just a great day out.

From strategy and planning to delivery and follow up, I’ll help you make every event count.

Events

Events that do more than look good on the day.

Too often a stand gets booked, the team turns up, and nobody can say afterwards what it delivered. Objectives are fuzzy, pre event promotion is thin and follow up is patchy, so the real opportunity is missed.

I shape events with a clear commercial purpose, from objectives, audiences and formats through to themes, messaging, promotion, registration and follow up. Every event becomes part of a joined up programme, not an isolated appearance.

I’ve created and run multi day customer conferences, seminar programmes, roundtables and exhibitions, and hosted speakers including Seth Godin, Mark Ritson, Dave Chaffey and PR Smith. I’m happy to lead your events end to end or support your team on a single show.

What you get

What event support typically includes.

Each engagement is shaped around the event, but commonly covers:

Strategy and objectives

Event and exhibition planning, audiences, objectives and the success measures we’ll track.

  • The right events for your audience
  • Clear goals, from meetings booked to pipeline
  • Budgets and success measures agreed up front

Your own events

Customer conferences, seminars, roundtables, roadshows and webinars, from concept and agenda to speakers.

  • Agenda, speakers and venue sorted
  • A great experience for everyone who attends
  • Content you can reuse afterwards

Exhibitions and stands

Stand messaging, themes and content, plus venue, agency and supplier coordination.

  • Stand messaging that helps you stand out from the herd
  • Suppliers and logistics coordinated
  • A clear plan for the team on the stand

Promotion and registration

Pre event campaigns, landing pages, registration journeys and meeting booking.

  • Pre event campaigns that fill the room
  • Simple registration journeys
  • Meetings booked before the doors open

Sales support

Briefing materials, sales content and a clear plan for who meets whom on the day.

  • Briefing packs for the team
  • Target accounts and who meets whom
  • Talking points and sales content

Follow up and ROI

Post event campaigns, lead tracking and an honest evaluation of what it delivered.

  • Follow up while the conversation is still warm
  • Leads tracked through to pipeline
  • An honest view of what the event delivered

Is this you?

When it’s the right fit

Recognise yourself in a couple of these? Let’s have a chat and I’ll tell you honestly if event support is the right move.

Sounds like me

You invest in events but struggle to prove the return.

Your team doesn’t have the capacity to run events well in house.

You’re building presence in a new market.

You want your own customer event, conference or awards.

You want events that build relationships and thought leadership, not just footfall.

You have a big show coming up and need senior support to make it count.

Proof it works

Done it before. Happy to again.

FAQ

Questions I get asked a lot.

Straight answers. Anything else, just ask.

Do you only support exhibitions, or business led events too?

Both. Alongside exhibitions and trade shows I run customer conferences, seminars, roundtables, roadshows and webinars. These are often built around insight and thought leadership rather than a hard sell, which is exactly why they work.

How do you make sure events generate a return?

By agreeing objectives and measures up front, filling the diary before the event, and following up properly afterwards. Then we track the leads and opportunities through to pipeline and revenue.

How far ahead should we start planning?

For a big exhibition or your own conference, three to four months is ideal. For smaller events and webinars it can be much quicker.

Can you manage our agencies, venues and suppliers?

Yes. I can act as the senior marketing lead on the event, coordinating your internal team, sales, agencies, venues and suppliers through to delivery.

“Simon is careful, smart and goal oriented, and works very well on his own initiative. From contra deals with national and international event organisers to running the annual symposia for the BCI community, I can highly recommend working with him.”
