Cookie policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

This policy explains how this website uses cookies and similar technologies. The short version: I don’t use any tracking or advertising cookies, and the site only uses what it needs to work securely.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites save on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s session storage, work in the same way. Some are essential for a site to work. Others are used for things like analytics or advertising, and those need your permission first.

What this website uses

Strictly necessary only. These don’t need your consent because the site can’t work securely without them:

  • Security: my security service, Wordfence, may set cookies to protect the site from attacks and spam.
  • Website login: WordPress sets cookies when someone logs in to manage the site. If you’re just visiting, you won’t get these.
  • Contact form: when you send a message, the site briefly remembers your details in your browser’s session storage so it can show you a confirmation. This is cleared when you close the tab.

This website does not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies, and doesn’t embed content from other sites that sets its own cookies.

If this changes

If I add tools that use non essential cookies, such as website analytics, I’ll ask for your permission before setting them and update this policy first.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working properly. Your browser’s help pages explain how.
