Interim marketing director

Take control, create momentum and leave a lasting impact.

Experienced, hands on leadership when you need it most. From stabilising to scaling, I’ll hit the ground running.

Interim leadership

Senior leadership, without the wait.

Whether your marketing leader has left, you’re scaling faster than the team can handle or the business is going through a big change, a gap at the top of marketing is expensive. Campaigns stall, the team drifts and pipeline suffers.

As your interim Marketing Director I step in full time or close to it, take ownership of the function and lead from the front. No lengthy recruitment process, no months of handover.

I’ve led marketing at board level, including eight years as Marketing Director of a PE backed SaaS group, managing teams across the UK, the Netherlands and Germany and budgets from £200k to £1M.

FAQ

Questions I get asked a lot.

Straight answers. Anything else, just ask.

How quickly can you start?

Usually within a week or two. If it’s urgent, tell me and I’ll do my best to move faster.

How long do interim roles usually last?

Most run for three to nine months, but it depends on why there’s a gap. We agree a timeline at the start and review it as we go.

Is it full time?

It can be. Interim roles are usually three to five days a week, depending on what the business needs while you hire.

Will you help us hire the permanent person?

Yes, if you want me to. I can help shape the role, sit in on interviews and hand over properly so they start strong.

What’s the difference between interim and fractional?

Interim is more days a week for a set period, to cover a gap. Fractional is fewer days a month, ongoing, for businesses that don’t need a full time CMO yet.

“I would highly recommend Simon to any organisation looking for a strategic, hands on marketing leader who can build teams, drive growth and make a genuine commercial impact.”

Stephanie Kent

Customer Service & Partnership Director

Spotler

“Simon gave me enough room to work and deliver projects independently, but always had a firm hand in how they were approached, and supported me without me needing to ask. A very level headed and fair manager I’d look forward to working for again.”
